Summer Sun - Sharing, Friendship, and Renewal

The summer sun is certainly pounding down on Lancaster County today. One day past the solstice and it feels like August in the Deep South! Wow! It's neat, though, that the days are longer. You can go on a walk around town and enjoy the fresh air until about 9PM and still have full light. Summer is a great time for sharing, friendship, and renewal.

You can share time, presence and good meals together with neighbors, co-workers, and friends. At The Crossings Church there are a couple of great times together to share - the balance of the Summer Film Festival and at the church picnic on Sunday, July 25th. Guests are welcomed. It's some down time and fun time for friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family who may be interested in exploring some connection with a church family. As we gather together, it's for the purpose of sharing and friendship.

Summer is an awesome time to build some friendships... with people around you. At The Crossings Church there are several ways to build friendships during the summer. LIFE groups are hosting BBQ's at various peoples' homes. These BBQ's are your invitation to come and visit. There's no study. There's no pressure. There's some food, fun, and a chance to explore and discover friendships with others. LIFE groups are on hiatus from focused studies and wide open for some friendship. There's a chance to discover new friends and to renew ties with familiar friends.

Of course, summer is a time for renewal, too. Family times... some vacations, some family gatherings, and just some pure down time with God are an essential part of summer. It gets tricky serving together on Sunday mornings, but it lasts for a brief season as everyone regroups and renews.

I'm enjoying the summer fun in all three ways this summer - sharing, friendship, and renewal. I'm praying for each person who is a part of our family that you will be able to share, build friendship, and renew. And, I'm praying the same for Manheim Township, Lititz, East Petersburg, and southeastern sections of Manheim Central at large... God's blessings in these key summer activities.
